1 January: Zohran Mamdani, the founder of a Justice for Palestine chapter in school takes over the mayorship of New York.  

1 January: Zohran Mamdani revokes the executive orders of his predecessor on the support of the IHRA working definition on antisemitism and the ban on the BDS movement. 

6 January: The Palestinian journalist Ali Abunimah, who was prevented from speaking and arrested in Switzerland was acquitted. A court in Zurich found his arrest unlawful.

6 January: After over 250 organisations demanded for the basketball game between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Real Madrid to be cancelled, the game will be hold behind closed doors and any ticket purchased will be refunded.

8 January: Belgium does not provide consular services to Belgian citizens living in Israeli settlements in Palestine.

8 January: Dozens of writers withdrew of the Adelaide Writers week over the cancelation of a Palestinian-Australian writer at the event.

8 January: 30% of the employees of Breads Bakery formed a union and demand that the bakery stops supporting a Palestinian genocide committed by Israel. Breads bakery is a spin-off of an Israeli bakery and the bakeries in the USA take part in a Jewish festivity where bred with the Israeli flag seem to be reparted. The union is represented by the United Auto Workers (UAW).

9 January: The campaign No Music for Genocide aiming for the withdrawal from the ESC of Malta has kicked off.

11 January: The chair and further three board members resigned from the Adelaide writers week.

13 January: The far right Zionist Betar organisation will end it activities in the United States of America. It was a tax exempted organisation in the USA but after the the attorney general of New York approached them to register as such with her, they preferred to end their activities.

13 January: It was made public that in September 2025, the speech at a school in Bristol of British MP and Israel supporter David Egan was cancelled out of concerns of protests by the Palestine solidarity.

13 January: Actors Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Ruffalo and Susan Sarandon demand that Israel re-establishes the Palestinian Healthcare infrastructure.

14 January: Two hunger strikers end their strike after the UK canceled a contract with the Israeli weapons manufacturer worth 2 billions.

19 January: American Football Linebacker Azeez Al Shair wore a stop the genocide sticker in the face. He was then fined for it.

20 January: The FIFA and UEFA achieved that the football pitch in the Aida Refugee camp will not be demolished by the Israeli occupation.

20 January: The Israeli comedian Guy Hochman was briefly detained at the Toronto Airport over a complaint by the Hind Rajab Foundation.

20 January: Zubin Mehta, one of the internationally most recognized conductor of the Israeli Philharmonic orchestra cancelled all his concerts in Israel over its treatment of the Palestinians.

23 January: Francesca Albanese is to be awarded a honorary doctorate by the three Belgian universities of Ghent, Antwerp and Brussels in April.

23 January: The Art Gallery of Toronto in Canada faces strong opposition of staff and resignations after it refused to buy photographs of the jewish photographer Nan Goldin over antisemitism concerns. Nan Goldin is one of the very prominent photographers in our generation.

27 January: Australia cancels visa for an Israeli influencer for islamophobic statements. Good, but also the ones who invited him should be investigated.
