Universities from South Africa

Universities from South Africa that have acceded to some or all of the demands. South Africa is an influential country for the BDS movement as the BDS was inspired by the sanctions against South Africa because of the Apartheid. It was also in South Africa where the first University pledged support for the BDS in 2017.

Universities from Spain that have acceded to some or all of the demands from the protesters.

It was prominently reported in the media that 76 Spanish Universities shall have suspended ties. But not all 76 have suspended ties, it was a decision to review the ties. Some refused to suspend ties, others suspended at first, but a few months later forgot what they had said. It is true though, that in Spain a larger number of Universities suspended ties with Israeli universities or in case they did not have them, pledged not to establish new ones.
