On the 1st of August 2025 Slovenia became the first EU country to announce a weapons embargo on Israel<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Football player Shon Weissmanns signing was cancelled at Fortuna D\u00fcsseldorf for his support of the destruction of Gaza<\/a>. Fans protested against his signing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yossy Shelley, Israels Ambassador to the UAE was warned for inappropriate behaviour by the authorities of the UAE<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 August: The Israeli Ambassador to Ethiopia was expelled from a Genocide event at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Abeba<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 August: The Bosnian National Museum accuses Israel of genocide against the Palestinians and donates the proceeds of the Haggadah exhibit to the Palestinians<\/a>. The Sarajevo Haggadah, a jewish text from ca. 14th century is one of the most valued items of the museum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6th of August: Slovenia has banned trade with the Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Scottish Government discusses a BDS approach towards Israel following demands from the Green Party<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Irish Government said it will advance the bill on the ban of trade with the Israeli settlements in the OPT<\/a> after Israel said it would occupy Gaza city in early July. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Copenhague Fashion Week the model and musician Jura unfurled a Palestinian stop the genocide flag<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7 August: 200 writers among them Elif Shafak and Zadie Smith signed a petition to shun trade with Israel <\/a>until the Palestinians receive enough aid in Gaza. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8 August: The Royal Albert Hall in London apologised to a man who was refused entry due to a Palestine pin<\/a> he had on his chest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

on the 10th of August Francesca Albanese, the UN rapporteur for the Occupied Palestinian Territories demanded that the UEFA expels Israel<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

11th August, Australias Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced that Australia would recognise Palestine<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

11th August New Zealands Government is considering recognising Palestine<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In August, the female volleyball squad of Slovenia refused a handshake with the Israeli team<\/a>. It’s now discussed if it should be sanctioned. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

11th August: The Norwegian Sovereign Fund divested from 11 Israeli companies<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

12th August: France halted to issuance of visas to security staff of the Israeli El airline Al<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Mid August, the Friends’ School of Tasmania, the largest Quaker School ends collaboration with learning programs National Youth Science Forum and the Science Engineering Challenge<\/a> which are sponsored by weapons manufacturers.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

14 August: The Israeli 3×3 Basketball team from Ramat Gan was expelled from a qualifier championship in France<\/a> due to political considerations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15th August: Nobel Prize laureates around Acemoglu urge Netanyahu to change course on Gaza<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18th August: Australia cancelled the Visa for the racist Israeli politician Simcha Rothman<\/a> an MK for the Mafdal Religious Zionism Party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same day, it was announced that the Norwegian Sovereign Fund divested from 6 additional Israeli companies<\/a>.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In mid-August 2025 over 400 Canadian athletes demanded for Israel to excluded from the Davis Cup<\/a> or that Canada does not play against Israel in September. The International Tennis Federation<\/a>  and the Davis Cup<\/a>, refused to exclude Israel though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In August it was announced that Miss Palestine will compete at the Miss Universe pageantry for the first time<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18 August: Deutsche Friedensgesellschaft (DFG) expels the Berlin branch<\/a> because it opposed te adherence to an Amnesty International led initiative for peace in Gaza and accused the DFG of antisemitism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20th August the Italian Association of Football Coaches demanded that the UEFA and FIFA suspend Israel<\/a>. Italy should face Israel in October 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20th August: Calian from Canada suspended the shipment of GPS trackers to Elbit systems<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

20th August: Norges Bank Investment Management <\/a>(NBIM) has excluded<\/a> six further Israeli companies linked to Gaza and the West Bank from its portfolio over ethical concerns<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20th August: Paul Weller of The Jam sued his former accountants after they refused to work with him over his allegedly anti-Israel views<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

22nd August: The Dutch Foreign Minister Veldkamp of the NSC resigned after the cabinet refused more sanctions on Israel.<\/a> After three more ministers of the NSC resigned and the NSC left the Government.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

26th August: The Norwegian Sovereign Fund divested from Caterpillar, and five Israeli banks .<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

26th August: Brazil refuses to welcome a new Israeli ambassador to Brazil<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

26 August: Jordan nominated the Palestinian Film “All that is left of you”<\/a> for the Oscars, the Academy Film Awards. Javier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo are listed as Executive Producers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

26th August: The Belgian foreign minister Maxime Prevot<\/a> pressures for a tougher stance against Israel in view of the destruction of Gaza and demands a recognition of Palestine<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

27th August: Three Palestinians charged with the celebration of terrorism in Berlin were absolved<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

27th August: The Voice of Hind Rajab has its premiere at the Venice Film Festival<\/a>. Its executive producers are Brad Pitt, Joaquin Phoenix, Rafael Cuaron and Jonathan Glazer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

27th August: At the Vuelta de Espana the Israel Tech Cycling team was forced to drive around a poster that demanded a bycott of Israel<\/a>. The owner of the Israeli cycling team condemned the peace demonstration and called it terror. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

28th August: The Anti Gathering was cancelled in Portugal due to a BDS campaign against the Israeli soldier Shahar Bickel (also active in Gaza since October 2023)<\/a>, one of the organizers of the festival<\/p>\n\n\n\n

28th August: No Israeli Government official is permitted to take part at the DSEI, a weapons fair in London<\/a>. Israeli companies are still permitted to take part, but no one from the Israeli Government.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

29th August: Turkey closes its airspace to and ends trade with Israel.<\/a> Even though that is good news, it’s hard to believe as Turkey facilitates Azerbaijani gas exports to Israel over the Baku-Ceyhan pipeline<\/a> and imprisoned pro-Palestine protesters in the past<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

29th August: Australian Byron Shire Council announced a BDS approach toward Israel<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

30 August: A pro-Palestinian  protest against  the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra interrupted a BBC broadcast<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

30 August: A huge march for Gaza to which many actors attended happened at the Venice Film Festival<\/a>. Hundreds of members of the film industry signed a letter demanding that the Israeli actor Gal Gadot and Michael Butler were disinvited by the Festival, which refused to do so, but Gadot eventually did not come. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

31st August: The head of the World Jewish Agency, a former commander of the Southern Command cancelled his trip to South Africa<\/a> fearing arrest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

31st August: The Danish foreign minister called for the suspension of Trade Agreement with Israel<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
